Logging and real-time statistics for your AppleShare IP file server. AFP Logger, from Open Door Networks, Inc., is an application which works with your AppleShare IP file server to log accesses to that file server. Accesses and errors are logged by user and by file opened. AFP Logger also provides a real-time summary display of your server's operation.
With AFP Logger you, as the AppleShare administrator, can:
- keep track of who's connecting to your server and when
- notice if any unauthorized access to your server is attempted
- keep an audit trail of server operations
- determine which files on your server are accessed the most
- notice if errors are occurring on accesses to the server.

Items logged include:
- the name and address of users logging into the server
- invalid login attempts
- users' AppleTalk or TCP/IP addresses*
- time connected and bytes transferred for each user
- files opened and deleted by each user
- any errors that occur
- password changes
Integrated with LogDoor. AFP Logger works especially well when combined with Open Door's LogDoor Real-time Server Monitor. LogDoor provides a real-time display of accesses to files on your file server, and has been enhanced to provide additional user-specific details.
*AppleShare IP 6.0 or later required for IP address logging
Features and Benefits
- Logs user logins and login attempts. Determine who is using your server and who's trying to but maybe shouldn't be.
- Logs time connected and bytes transfered for each user. Determine who's loading the server the most.

Requirements:
- AppleShare IP 5.0.2 or later. AppleShare IP 6 required for IP address logging and certain other features.
- System 7.6.1 or later.
- PowerPC processor.
- LogDoor 2.1 or later for real-time user analysis.
